Flossing your teeth / gumsThe positions of the dental floss are calculated to be located ca. 2mm under gums in closed teeth position (see picture to the right). Floss will go under gum-line just until there is resistance (because it is still flexible/bendable).
Depending on whether upper- or lower-jaw is slightly moved to the left or right when biting, the floss will slip under the left or right tooth's gum line. Just bite several times, and grind when the teeth are closed. The floss will slip under different teeth's gumlines almost every time. The dental floss is still soft/bendable, even when the teeth are closed, so there is no danger to be hurt (the danger to hurt gums is much higher when flossing by hand, because there are no maximum positions and soft stop through the bristles like in Blizzident). |
Advantages over flossing by hand
Slits above the floss-holes allow for quick routing of the dental floss through the floss-holes. |
When biting and grinding, you move your jaws slightly to the right and left and forwards/backwards: through these motions floss hugs around the teeth and goes below the gumline of the left and right tooth in a precisely controlled way.
But never too far, because the movement is softly stopped by the bristles. |
